Job Title: National Sales Manager
Job Purpose: Direct and manage the regional sales force to achieve sales and profit goals.
Job Duties:
- Plan, Organize and Execute meaningful sales meetings and agendas
- Create visibility for future business and help determine future inventory needs
- Set realistic goals for each Sales member and track their success
- Travel with the Sales Team and provide support and guidance to achieve their goals
- Track plant visits - create reports/accountability
- Identify commonalities in areas we have success and capitalize on the customers we know we will have the most success with
- Maintain consistent pricing
- Work with Sales Team to cover and increase transportation rates
- Use inside sales support to do market research for current & potential business
- Work with the production team to keep the Sales Team informed on new production changes and capabilities
- Manage the sales territories by maintaining a balanced sales force to cover all territories
- Create good reporting structure for the Sales Team
- Create a good contact management system
- Improve communication systems for the Sales Team
- Maintain a positive sales culture that works with all departments as a team
- Must be able to listen to sales individual needs and represent them well to management
- Must be able to manage dealer relations
Skills/Qualifications:
- Must have a background in production and distribution of industrial products
- Must have prior manager experience in managing a national sales team
- Must have experience in staffing development
- Must have effective leadership and communication skills
- Must have experience in business development
- Must have a positive attitude, determination and exceptional follow up skills
- Must be willing to travel
- Must be a Team Player
