Our Blast Resistant Module was field tested for a 5 psi (200 msec duration) blast. The test blast utilized a 1250+ high explosive ANFO charge, at a standoff distance of 110 ft. The blast tested module was constructed to our standard spec, with roof and wall panels strengthened with tube steel stiffeners. The module survived with no structural damage.
These engineered personnel and storage blast resistant buildings can be designed to meet your specific needs with configurations for Controlled Entry Point Offices, Equipment/Sensitive Substance Storage, Restrooms, and numerous other applications. Class 1 Division 2 Exterior and Interior Overpressure is available up on request.
All components were found to respond at or below "low-medium" range of damage when subjected to a 5 psi free-field blast load with 200 msec duration. Damage to non-structural components such as conduit pipes, light fixtures, HVAC unit and interior sheathing is expected to be minor under the 5 psi free-field blast load with 200 msec duration. P-I diagrams for the primary structural components were provided; these diagrams would allow computing the response of the component under any blast load. Connections were also designed to resist 5 psi blast load with 200 msec duration.
